What August holds....

First of all: Summer is flying away, right? We are all feeling the same, aren't we? Only four more weeks of summer break for us. It is already August and how this is happening so fast..... at this point we start counting down until we get to the first day of school and the beginning of Fall. We already got school supplies and the district has already sent its calendar of upcoming meetings to meet teachers. Yep, summer is almost gone.

But for us, the month of August still holds a big surprise. A big moment I have been waiting for years, many years. It marks one of the most yearned moments in the last decade. My dad is coming to Madison. After a long time without seeing him, my dad will be here in about a week. He'll meet his grandson for the very first time and this is making me really, very happy. I don't even have words to express what feelings I'm feeling right now.

We have written many lists of what we want to do, where we want to go, what we are going to eat, and drink and talk about, etc.... but really we just wanna hold him tight and don't ever let go.

I will make sure to share many photos of mom and dad and Diego and all of us together.
Have a good week friends.
Peace and good health to all.

some photos of our latest summer outings.

Kindergarten

It seems we have finally found a school we really like for D. to start elementary school next fall. I know, it seems so early to start the process, but in order to pick the school we really wanted we needed to start this early. What a relief. What a big relief. We toured at least 10 schools in the last 2 months. In our district, out of our district, public schools and private schools, charter schools and whatever's left in the middle, and somehow there was always something that didn't click to me when touring all those schools. All of them -btw- with very high scores and super nice reviews, but still, there was something that didn't convince me. It happened the same to me when I was looking for preschools for D. two years ago. I visited many, until I went to one that felt right to me instantly, it felt right in my heart. And that was how I felt yesterday morning when we visited the very last school in our list to tour, it felt right. I liked the school, thank God, I liked

Good luck, Dani

As you go through life, you encounter in your way many different people who definitely come to you to teach you something. Along the way, there are different groups of people you meet as an adult. Based on your values and the philosophy of life you have decided to adopt, you choose who you want and who you don't want close to you. You really learn to recognise the toxic personalities and the enlightened souls. Well, this woman standing next to me, who I call my friend, -her name is Daniela- is one of those souls you meet at some point in your life (as I said before, if you are lucky enough) and who makes you think that goodness, kindness, friendship, do exist out there. She is that type of person who positively changes the lives of people around her. She is kind and sweet and smart. She is a good mother a good wife and a good friend. She is an amazing professional.... and she is moving, she is ready to start a different path in her life and as we wish Dani the best in her new jour

Copenhagen

I've had this city in my mind for a while. Never been there, but every time I research about trips to Europe I bump into a Copenhagen article, link, photo and I get more and more interested and excited about this city. In pictures it just looks like the kind of city I like. Here my inspiration for today Friday, a few photos of gorgeous Copenhagen. All photos by: littlescandinavian.com  (one of my favorite blogs). Happy weekend. Healthy and peaceful.
