What I pray for

To be honest I'm never very successful at new year resolutions. I tend to believe that I am more of a spontaneous soul rather than an organized, goal oriented person. I prefer to put together a list of wishes than a list of goals. But of course, spontaneous or goal oriented we all have wishes, hopes, resolutions, -whatever we want to call them for the new year ahead of us, don't we? which BTW it is about to start, -only hours away. It has been a tough year for our world. 2016 is leaving in many of us a deep sense of vulnerability. Watching and reading the news this year have been really scary. All kind of devastating events all over the globe; and realizing that our world is so divided and polarized really takes me to a very vulnerable place. I am a mother and I can't stop worrying what kind of world my kid is growing in. That's a thought I have in my mind pretty much on a daily basis. But in the middle of all the nonsense we see around us, there is always a kid&#

This wonderful home

I found my inspiration today from these wonderful images of this home. Enjoy the good taste shown here. .....and only two days for Christmas.

African baskets and vintage crates

I'm always looking for ideas that can help me a little to keep stuff organized. With a 7 y/o with a deep love for Legos, Pokemon cards, Magna Tiles and Star Wars toys I really need something really easy that helps me -and himself- to pick up real quick and still look awesome around the house and most importantly:  organized. I have this new thing for African baskets. There is something very warm and crafty about them. They just look so pretty in any room and you can store about anything in there. Vintage crates have always been to me a great way to keep books and magazines organized and they look very cool around the house.  Take a look at these ideas. Happy hump day........and only four days to Christmas.

Winter break and 5 things we want to do

Every year at this point in time I get this feeling of almost disbelief - at how the year flew so fast. That feeling seems more and more intense and obvious as we age, I guess, at least that's how I feel. Life seems to go way too fast. It really feels overwhelming sometimes to see how a whole year just slips through your hands like grains of sand and here we are getting ready for Christmas again and starting to plan the year ahead. Bottom line, life does go way too fast. The last couple of months in town have been very unseasonable. The weather was pretty much around the 60's during October and the two first weeks of November, rarely hitting the 50's, which is really weird in this part of the country during this time. Low temps started to hit Madison by the very end of November and only now we have started to see very low temps (I MEAN, VERY LOW) so winter has officially arrived. As usual, I need my little list of things I want to do during Winter break other
