a sabbatical year

I have been following for a while now, the journey this beautiful family started almost one year ago.  -A sabbatical year to explore a big chunk of this amazing world-. This is a family of six. Mom, Dad and 4 kiddos who one summer day left their home in London and decided they wanted to experience other cultures, different landscapes, colors, foods and everything else in the middle, "embracing the simple and the slow", as their blog states. It takes a lot of courage, energy and inspiration. It really does. It is so difficult to leave your comfort zone, -it is for me-. Both, Aude and I had been feeling nostalgic about it and it had been at least 14 years since last time we went to a Caribbean beach in our country; not Puerto Rico though but Venezuela, where we are from. As many of you know, the political and social upheaval in Venezuela makes it really difficult and not safe for us to travel to our country, so we picked a destination in the map that looked and felt like home. A few friends had mentioned that PR was a great option and a very good destination for a family vacation, so one night, only 10 days before the trip we booked flights, hotel, a car and everything else for our trip and went for it. It is a beautiful island. People are extremely nice and sweet. The oldest part of town Old San Juan is breathtaking in
