What we are reading these days

I was so thrilled when I heard my boy saying: "OK mom, I'll read Harry Potter, I'll give it a try." A month later he is in love with Harry, Hermione, Hogwarts and everything else in the amazing Harry Potter series. He is still 7 (well, almost 8) but because it is such a layered plot, it isn't an easy book for young kiddos. So far, he is enjoying the magical series though; almost done with book one, and number two is waiting on top of his night table. Something I really enjoy these days is watching my boy reading a few different books at the same time. He jumps from one to the other. Some other favorites for him right now are Magic Tree House series, which he has read most of them. Disaster Strikes series, a present he got from his teacher, and the super cute According to Humphrey series. He just started also, Little Legends, which seems pretty cool and cute too. Dear Kids, When I fail.....

I would like to share  this beautifully written piece  to all the mothers out there. The ones I know and the ones I don't know. To all those mothers who are close to my heart. To all those women who one day will become a mother. To my own mother who I only understood when I became a mother myself. To my son, who is teaching me everything I came to learn. Read every single word of  this piece . Peace and good health, a few photos I love with my sweet boy....... Corners of beautiful Madison

I have probably said it in previous posts: -I believe the Midwest is a very underestimated region in the country. Undervalued when it comes to promoting beautiful places to visit in the US. Overshadowed by both coasts, for sure. The truth is, other than Chicago you don't hear much about other great cities in the Midwest, and yes, there are a bunch. Minneapolis, for instance, is one of them. Awesome city. Great energy. Lots and lots of things to do. I would move to Minneapolis in the blink of an eye. Kansas City, another cool one, on my list to visit soon. Milwaukee (even though we hear a lot about being violent and one of the most segregated cities in America) I think Milwaukee has a few cool things to offer as a city; I personally love it. Nice downtown packed with good restaurants and shops, and some Parisian architecture around.  Door County-WI with all its little and picturesque towns, it's simply a gem of the Midwest. And Madison, of course, Madison; the place where I
