Keeping it simple

These two handsome little men met this long weekend for the very first time and loved each other right away. Played as hard as they could and made all the messes you can imagine. Also promised each other to get together real soon to do it all over again. We had a simple but awesome Thanksgiving weekend. Lots of quality time spent at home watching these two play and having fun. Good old friends, little sleep, more sweets than necessary and long conversations about life. Out the Holiday season has officially started, the weather has given us a little break and December arrives tomorrow. Have a good month, lots of good health and peace. Let's keep it simple, always.

Hope

What a great word hope is, isn't it? This year I decided I wanted to make a list of all the things I am thankful for (i write a lot of lists). While trying to make that list of mine today I realized I am thankful for pretty much everything in my life. Not because it is a perfect life but because it's mine, it is the one that has been put before me to be fully lived. I am thankful for all those things I like about my life and all the challenging ones as well, I want to embrace them all. For the opportunity given to me to be on this planet, this wonderful place we call home. The good, the not that good, the ups and the downs, what it was and what it is. For that bright light in my heart, that can radiate so much warmth and love to those I deeply adore. For the dark side in me as well, that reminds me I'm real, I'm human; I'm a work in progress. For my son, oh my God, my son, that little boy who makes me wonder every day why God chose me to be his mother, to be that

These shoes. Those Coats.

Some fashion inspiration for the cold days ahead.

Words

word/ noun "a single distinct meaningful element of speech or writing, used with others (or sometimes alone) to form a sentence and typically shown with a space on either side when written or printed." .. and some of them put together this way make me think, make me smile.

and so it begins

Happy Thursday.

Snow

Here comes the snow and I say, it's all right. Snow in the forecast for the beginning of the week. Bring it, I love snow. At least the first snow showers, then when we get to February and still snowing well that's a different story. Have a healthy, safe and peaceful week.

Holidays on my mind

I come from a very big Italian family. My Holidays when I was a little girl were filled with traditions, many of them. My Italian traditions mixed with my Venezuelan ones, -this last one, the country I was born and raised- and then there you go, many different, colorful, amazing customs for a little girl. Holidays growing up were very happy to me and very magical to say the least. As a mom I try to do the same with my son now, I try to keep that magic very alive even though our Holidays are very simple and quiet compared to the ones I had growing up in South America. This year though we started a new tradition in our family. An elf came from the North Pole. He is moving around our house checking a little boy’s behavior. This little guy goes back to Santa’s workshop every night after Diego falls asleep (he needs to report the naughty and nice situation) and right before he wakes up, the guy comes back.  We gave this little one a name and we are already in  deep love with him.
