My summer bucket list

I love spontaneity but I have to admit that I kind of feel that in our family when we only leave it to spontaneity things not always happen. In this house of ours, we sure need a little plan, for almost everything. Even to go to the store. That's why every year I put a little list together of places and things we already did the year before but we would love to repeat and new things to experience during our summer break.

This year we are going for a few days to Kansas City. Aude's childhood friend lives there and we are visiting. I'm excited, even though you don't hear much about Kansas City, I'm actually very excited to go and explore. Another place we would love to go this year (and yes, every year I say the same) is Door County. It is supposed to be gorgeous and we haven't been there. Six years in Wisconsin and haven't been to Door County.... I'm always shy to say that out loud among locals, it's kind of a sin. There was a third destination on our list this summer. We were planning to go to Puerto Rico again and get our Caribbean fix during this summer but it got postponed to the Fall because guess what.... grandma and grandpa are coming to Madison and nothing can really beat that. That will absolutely be the cherry of our summer. The best part of it and I can't wait.

A few pictures of our summer so far.
Have a safe summer everyone. Wish you lots of peace, good health, and fun.

Kindergarten

It seems we have finally found a school we really like for D. to start elementary school next fall. I know, it seems so early to start the process, but in order to pick the school we really wanted we needed to start this early. What a relief. What a big relief. We toured at least 10 schools in the last 2 months. In our district, out of our district, public schools and private schools, charter schools and whatever's left in the middle, and somehow there was always something that didn't click to me when touring all those schools. All of them -btw- with very high scores and super nice reviews, but still, there was something that didn't convince me. It happened the same to me when I was looking for preschools for D. two years ago. I visited many, until I went to one that felt right to me instantly, it felt right in my heart. And that was how I felt yesterday morning when we visited the very last school in our list to tour, it felt right. I liked the school, thank God, I liked

Copenhagen

I've had this city in my mind for a while. Never been there, but every time I research about trips to Europe I bump into a Copenhagen article, link, photo and I get more and more interested and excited about this city. In pictures it just looks like the kind of city I like. Here my inspiration for today Friday, a few photos of gorgeous Copenhagen. All photos by: littlescandinavian.com  (one of my favorite blogs). Happy weekend. Healthy and peaceful.
