Life with Grandma around

These past two weeks, life with grandma around was awesome. Somehow simpler, I couldn't explain why, though. I would do whatever to have her closer if I could, here with us and not almost 3,000 miles away. Mothers are an important piece of the tribe you need around when raising your kids and that piece is missing in my tribe.

Diego hugged her the other day and said to me: mama, grandma feels so nice and soft……. My goodness, those words warmed my heart and almost made me cry.

We didn't do much but every day felt kind of perfect, we ate out, we ate in, we hung out, we cooked a little, we went shopping, we watched TV together, we took Diego to his after school activities. She was just here, present in our lives.

Who knows, I don’t lose faith that one day my sisters and I will convince mom and dad to finally make that big decision and just move and be here with us.

Some photos to share.
We'll see you soon, mom. Here we are waiting for your next visit.

Kindergarten

It seems we have finally found a school we really like for D. to start elementary school next fall. I know, it seems so early to start the process, but in order to pick the school we really wanted we needed to start this early. What a relief. What a big relief. We toured at least 10 schools in the last 2 months. In our district, out of our district, public schools and private schools, charter schools and whatever's left in the middle, and somehow there was always something that didn't click to me when touring all those schools. All of them -btw- with very high scores and super nice reviews, but still, there was something that didn't convince me. It happened the same to me when I was looking for preschools for D. two years ago. I visited many, until I went to one that felt right to me instantly, it felt right in my heart. And that was how I felt yesterday morning when we visited the very last school in our list to tour, it felt right. I liked the school, thank God, I liked

Copenhagen

I've had this city in my mind for a while. Never been there, but every time I research about trips to Europe I bump into a Copenhagen article, link, photo and I get more and more interested and excited about this city. In pictures it just looks like the kind of city I like. Here my inspiration for today Friday, a few photos of gorgeous Copenhagen. All photos by: littlescandinavian.com  (one of my favorite blogs). Happy weekend. Healthy and peaceful.
