February, favorite month of all

I wanted to publish this post on February 1st. but the busy life, right?

The day my son was born, I was reborn. I've said this a million times and I will probably say it a gazillion more. I don’t and I will never have enough words to explain the way my kid transformed my entire universe and the deep love and growth he brought into my life the day he arrived. That’s way February is my favorite month of the whole year. It is the month when I got to meet –almost- 7 years ago the most beautiful, amazing, smart, handsome and sweet little boy of all, my boy.

We will celebrate on February 14th (of course, he is pure love) his 7th birthday and I wanted to dedicate this article I read yesterday to him, to Diego, the little guy who switched all my priorities and filled my life with gigantic amounts of love.

This article talks about what’s important and memorable in a kid’s life. Of course it is not toys, not electronics, not material things but tools, memories, love, mindfulness, teachings that will stay with them forever and that will make them the amazing people they are meant to be.

I love you baba, you make me proud every second of the day.
mama.

read here the whole article. My 5 favorite gifts: Love, Contentment, Hope, Your Lap, Hugs and Kisses. Enjoy the article.

P.s. Oh, and grandma's coming in a few days. And we can barely manage the excitement.
Happy February BTW.

Kindergarten

It seems we have finally found a school we really like for D. to start elementary school next fall. I know, it seems so early to start the process, but in order to pick the school we really wanted we needed to start this early. What a relief. What a big relief. We toured at least 10 schools in the last 2 months. In our district, out of our district, public schools and private schools, charter schools and whatever's left in the middle, and somehow there was always something that didn't click to me when touring all those schools. All of them -btw- with very high scores and super nice reviews, but still, there was something that didn't convince me. It happened the same to me when I was looking for preschools for D. two years ago. I visited many, until I went to one that felt right to me instantly, it felt right in my heart. And that was how I felt yesterday morning when we visited the very last school in our list to tour, it felt right. I liked the school, thank God, I liked ...

Lately

It's been so long. I feel I haven't post anything in ages. Life has been seriously busy lately, that's why. And it seems that is the general tendency among friends. Whoever I talk to, they are trying to juggle a million things at once. That's life these days, I guess. The news have been scary, lately. Around the globe. Very scary. This year we have seen all kind of sadness, craziness, nonsense around the world. Even natural disasters have been horrific. And it seems it escalates year after year. To be honest the last few motnhs I have felt the need to hide, to retreat and protect my loved ones. To move somewhere where nothing can reach us, not even social media or TV... -especially social media and TV- But how? How we protect the people we love? How do we hide? Where do we go? Not sure where the world is going and if you have kids it can get really really scary at times. Is this the world we are leaving to them? What I'm sure about though is that more ...

Madison in the summer

For some reason, I don't want to let go of the idea of warm summer-days this year.  Every year and right at this point when summer is kind of fading away and the cool breeze rolls into the city, I usually feel excited and inspired by the arrival of the Fall season and its beautiful colors; not this year. I'm longing for more sunny days, and sunshine and summer scenes like the ones below in my pictures. Not ready for layers yet. Not ready for cold days. But we live in the northern midwest area of the country and seasons don't play around here, they get on time and do their job. I won't complain much, still three full weeks of summer (with grandma and grandpa) and to be fair September is a gorgeous month in Madison as well. Some pictures of beautiful Madison in the summer. Good week to all. Peace and good health, friends.
