Holidays on my mind

I come from a very big Italian family. My Holidays when I was a little girl were filled with traditions, many of them. My Italian traditions mixed with my Venezuelan ones, -this last one, the country I was born and raised- and then there you go, many different, colorful, amazing customs for a little girl. Holidays growing up were very happy to me and very magical to say the least. As a mom I try to do the same with my son now, I try to keep that magic very alive even though our Holidays are very simple and quiet compared to the ones I had growing up in South America.

This year though we started a new tradition in our family. An elf came from the North Pole. He is moving around our house checking a little boy’s behavior. This little guy goes back to Santa’s workshop every night after Diego falls asleep (he needs to report the naughty and nice situation) and right before he wakes up, the guy comes back.  We gave this little one a name and we are already in  deep love with him.

It is cold around here. Forget about two posts ago when I was still talking about fall. Fall? What? Coats, winter boots, warm hats, mittens, the weather channel, how much we miss summer, that's what we are talking about.

Keep warm. Be healthy. Be safe. Peace.

Kindergarten

It seems we have finally found a school we really like for D. to start elementary school next fall. I know, it seems so early to start the process, but in order to pick the school we really wanted we needed to start this early. What a relief. What a big relief. We toured at least 10 schools in the last 2 months. In our district, out of our district, public schools and private schools, charter schools and whatever's left in the middle, and somehow there was always something that didn't click to me when touring all those schools. All of them -btw- with very high scores and super nice reviews, but still, there was something that didn't convince me. It happened the same to me when I was looking for preschools for D. two years ago. I visited many, until I went to one that felt right to me instantly, it felt right in my heart. And that was how I felt yesterday morning when we visited the very last school in our list to tour, it felt right. I liked the school, thank God, I liked

Copenhagen

I've had this city in my mind for a while. Never been there, but every time I research about trips to Europe I bump into a Copenhagen article, link, photo and I get more and more interested and excited about this city. In pictures it just looks like the kind of city I like. Here my inspiration for today Friday, a few photos of gorgeous Copenhagen. All photos by: littlescandinavian.com  (one of my favorite blogs). Happy weekend. Healthy and peaceful.
