making memories

I haven't worked on my blog for quite some time, over a month I think. Life's been busy, very busy. School started. My mom is visiting from far away and I've been super busy at work. Last time I posted on my blog it was very warm, -mid august warm- BUT these pumpkins right here tell us the season has changed, it is not that warm anymore and all the pretty colors of fall are starting to arrive to the city.
.
My mom arrived too, about three weeks ago, she is here with us and to me having my mom here is one of the most important things that happen to us every year. For so many reasons, but mainly because of the memories Diego makes with her every time she visits. I know for sure, those memories he is making with grandma will be with him for the rest of his life. My relationship with my mother is not perfect, it is not flawless, but it is real and so important to me. And I love it deeply having her here.

Different season, the one I love the most.
Happy fall everyone. Healthy and peaceful.

Kindergarten

It seems we have finally found a school we really like for D. to start elementary school next fall. I know, it seems so early to start the process, but in order to pick the school we really wanted we needed to start this early. What a relief. What a big relief. We toured at least 10 schools in the last 2 months. In our district, out of our district, public schools and private schools, charter schools and whatever's left in the middle, and somehow there was always something that didn't click to me when touring all those schools. All of them -btw- with very high scores and super nice reviews, but still, there was something that didn't convince me. It happened the same to me when I was looking for preschools for D. two years ago. I visited many, until I went to one that felt right to me instantly, it felt right in my heart. And that was how I felt yesterday morning when we visited the very last school in our list to tour, it felt right. I liked the school, thank God, I liked

Copenhagen

I've had this city in my mind for a while. Never been there, but every time I research about trips to Europe I bump into a Copenhagen article, link, photo and I get more and more interested and excited about this city. In pictures it just looks like the kind of city I like. Here my inspiration for today Friday, a few photos of gorgeous Copenhagen. All photos by: littlescandinavian.com  (one of my favorite blogs). Happy weekend. Healthy and peaceful.
