amazing public schools around the world

I asked my friend -who is a teacher at a public school- a few months ago: what do you think, private or public? She answered: I will stick to public schools for my kids. I trust them. I believe in the public system.

Right now, schools are a topic that live on a daily basis in the top of my mind. This year, in the fall, my little guy will start kindergarten and believe me the decision to what school to send him to has been huge. Coming from a different country makes it even more difficult. The American school system is very different from what I am used to, truly different, so vulnerability levels run high for me.

However, I have done the homework to tour every single school I could and my husband and I decided which one was our favorite one. Which one we like for our kid. Now we are waiting for a transfer to be accepted. Crossing our fingers.

I bump into this article this morning about some amazing public schools around the world. Take a look at the buildings and classrooms. Really inspiring and amazing.

Have a great Sunday and a healthy and peaceful week.

Kindergarten

It seems we have finally found a school we really like for D. to start elementary school next fall. I know, it seems so early to start the process, but in order to pick the school we really wanted we needed to start this early. What a relief. What a big relief. We toured at least 10 schools in the last 2 months. In our district, out of our district, public schools and private schools, charter schools and whatever's left in the middle, and somehow there was always something that didn't click to me when touring all those schools. All of them -btw- with very high scores and super nice reviews, but still, there was something that didn't convince me. It happened the same to me when I was looking for preschools for D. two years ago. I visited many, until I went to one that felt right to me instantly, it felt right in my heart. And that was how I felt yesterday morning when we visited the very last school in our list to tour, it felt right. I liked the school, thank God, I liked

Copenhagen

I've had this city in my mind for a while. Never been there, but every time I research about trips to Europe I bump into a Copenhagen article, link, photo and I get more and more interested and excited about this city. In pictures it just looks like the kind of city I like. Here my inspiration for today Friday, a few photos of gorgeous Copenhagen. All photos by: littlescandinavian.com  (one of my favorite blogs). Happy weekend. Healthy and peaceful.
