Madison Public Library (downtown branch)

When we moved 2 1/2 years ago to Madison, this huge project started. And for more than 2 years we only saw demolitions, debries, a huge construction site and many many men working under the sun, the rain, the snow, the sun again. By the amount of people working on this project you knew it was going to be big, but honestly I never thoguht it was going to be so beautiful.

The new branch in -downton Madison- of the Public Library is just a gem, what a beautiful piece of architecture and what an amazing taste involved on every single piece of furniture and art. I took my son yesterday and we focused on the children's area, which is unbelievably beautiful, but we took a look at the rest of the building as well and as we were touring the whole building I could only think -if I only had some time to spare once in a while I would come here and forget about the outside world-. Yes, yesterday another favorite place was born in the city.

Take a look at some pictures. And if you live in Madison, please go visit, you'll enjoy it.

Kindergarten

It seems we have finally found a school we really like for D. to start elementary school next fall. I know, it seems so early to start the process, but in order to pick the school we really wanted we needed to start this early. What a relief. What a big relief. We toured at least 10 schools in the last 2 months. In our district, out of our district, public schools and private schools, charter schools and whatever's left in the middle, and somehow there was always something that didn't click to me when touring all those schools. All of them -btw- with very high scores and super nice reviews, but still, there was something that didn't convince me. It happened the same to me when I was looking for preschools for D. two years ago. I visited many, until I went to one that felt right to me instantly, it felt right in my heart. And that was how I felt yesterday morning when we visited the very last school in our list to tour, it felt right. I liked the school, thank God, I liked

Copenhagen

I've had this city in my mind for a while. Never been there, but every time I research about trips to Europe I bump into a Copenhagen article, link, photo and I get more and more interested and excited about this city. In pictures it just looks like the kind of city I like. Here my inspiration for today Friday, a few photos of gorgeous Copenhagen. All photos by: littlescandinavian.com  (one of my favorite blogs). Happy weekend. Healthy and peaceful.
