Spring and 15 fun things to do

15 nice, fun and easy (even free) activities to enjoy with my D during Spring.

go to the zoo. always fun and free in our city.
go to a botanical garden. also free in Madison, and kept beautifully by volunteers.
go to the children's museum. we have an amazing, little children's museum in the city. we adore it.
go shopping together. FUN. not free :(
try different play grounds. not always the one close to our house.
go to the art museum. even though sometimes it is not a good idea for a 4 year old.
go to the lake. we love the lake. cannot swim in it until summer though.
sidewalk chalk parties. FUN and FREE.
have cupcake dates. D's favorite.
go to the farmers market. every Saturday until fall. beautiful flowers. amazing food. good walk.
take an art class with my boy. really looking forward to this.
take a spin on any of the city's carousels. the one at the zoo is pretty cool and just $1.
go to lego land. 2 hours away from our city but totally worth it.
go to the library. a lot. play-read-story time-whatever.
make cookies together. I'm a bad baker, but we'll make cookies anyway.

Kindergarten

It seems we have finally found a school we really like for D. to start elementary school next fall. I know, it seems so early to start the process, but in order to pick the school we really wanted we needed to start this early. What a relief. What a big relief. We toured at least 10 schools in the last 2 months. In our district, out of our district, public schools and private schools, charter schools and whatever's left in the middle, and somehow there was always something that didn't click to me when touring all those schools. All of them -btw- with very high scores and super nice reviews, but still, there was something that didn't convince me. It happened the same to me when I was looking for preschools for D. two years ago. I visited many, until I went to one that felt right to me instantly, it felt right in my heart. And that was how I felt yesterday morning when we visited the very last school in our list to tour, it felt right. I liked the school, thank God, I liked

Copenhagen

I've had this city in my mind for a while. Never been there, but every time I research about trips to Europe I bump into a Copenhagen article, link, photo and I get more and more interested and excited about this city. In pictures it just looks like the kind of city I like. Here my inspiration for today Friday, a few photos of gorgeous Copenhagen. All photos by: littlescandinavian.com  (one of my favorite blogs). Happy weekend. Healthy and peaceful.
