That time of the year

It is that time of the year once more, when nature gets really magical; when we try to take as many pictures as possible to capture the wonderful display of beauty nature reserves for us once a year. It is all about bright colors right now and weather is almost perfection; fall season is peaking around Madison. It is a short season though, really only a few weeks before trees get all naked and wintry looking. This prelude before winter really hits town, is just too short for us, the ones who love fall. Grandma is about to arrive to Madison and she will spend her birthday here. That’s another magical thing happening. As you might know, she lives many many miles away from us and having her in town is a big deal for our family. This year she’ll be trick or treating with D, -so excited about that too. Trying to be out as much as we can these days and very aware of the fact that at some point during the winter we get bad cases of cabin fever, so play-dates, bike rides, weekend out

Fall in all its glory

Weather is transitioning right now. Every day you can see, feel and experience a little something that is different, that tells you we are going deeper into the Fall Season and straight towards Winter. In Madison it is all about colors right now; gorgeous pumpkins everywhere, more earthy colors on people's clothing, the pinkish light, -Oh my goodness that Fall light; and the trees, what can one even say about those colors, the intensity of the reds and yellows, all those brownish leaves on the ground that enamor me every single time, again and again. Madison looks so so pretty right now. I want to enjoy every day, every single one before all these colors are gone. Not only Fall has arrived, though but grandma will be arriving very soon too. That always warms our hearts and gets us very excited and inspired. She'll spend her birthday in Madison which is extra special. Every night Diego asks to spend some extra time after story-time -and before falling asleep- planning about p

Short trip to Chicago

I am better at handling short trips than longer ones. I like to sleep in my bed and after a few days away I start missing it. So short trips are perfect for me. You get a break from the daily routines, you visit great places, you take some nice photos and build some great memories but you get to go back home quickly. We went to Chicago on a very short trip to the city, a couple of days ago. As usual, the city looked to me overwhelmingly beautiful. It was cloudy, rainy, -already- cold and very windy, but beautiful as always. This is such a cosmopolitan city but somehow manages to still be livable, clean and for sure less chaotic than New York City or San Francisco, for instance. Our friend took us to a wonderful little gem in the middle of Downtown Chicago: The Maggie Daley Park. Check it out and take your kiddos if you happen to be in the city. You'll love it. The views from the park are awesome too. Some pictures to share (a little dark all of them). Happy, healthy
