April's gone

And April is gone. WHAT??? Yes it is gone with the wind. Happy May everyone.  Weather’s been good to us, and when weather is generous my mind gets really creative, positive and I start planning, even though after the planning the –make it happen- doesn't really happen all the time. Trees are blooming too; usually it is in May when trees bloom in Madison. Lots of new events in the forecast; farmer markets opening, concerts at the park coming up, visits to the lake, etc. Happy May to all and each of you, very healthy and very peaceful. Here's to Spring and colorful cities.

We are paper dolls

I love the work of this very talented girl. She is Jordan Grace Owens. You send her your family photo and she turns you into a paper doll. Love her style and technique. There is something very sweet and genuine but also super cool about her work. Here, her interpretation of the three of us. Her site:   http://jordangrace.com/Custom-Paper-Dolls It's Friday!!! Busy weekend ahead, for us. Busy is good. Good health and peace.

Happy midweek

And as unbelievable as it seems, April too, is flying away. How do we make time slow down a little? Just a fantasy, we can't. Oh, but If I only could slow down time a little. Is it the way we live and the amount of things we try to accomplish on a daily basis? Is it just a different perspective of what time is now as adults vs. our childhood days? Is it a little bit of both? Embrace the present, right? past is gone, future not here yet. This photo right here looks a lot like my happy place today. It also looks like time doesn't matter too much if I stare at this image. Happy midweek. Lots of good health everyone.

Pay attention

Among my favorite quotes....... "People may not tell you how they feel about you, but they always show you. Pay attention". Oh Yes, they always show you. What a powerful statement. What a big true, isn't it? Happy Sunday. Busy for us, Ill tell you later, why. Spring is here, right here, right now.

Paper quilling, mandala and more

From D's little art class, a paper quilling and a mandala. For some reason, both of these two pieces of art made by my boy, make me feel serene, can't explain why. Happy Saturday.

"Live Life on Your Own Terms"

Two years ago a friend shared with me this manifesto. I read it, loved it and shared right here on the blog. Last night I was browsing  the blog (for a much needed redesign) and found it. Love it like the first time I read it. Here it goes again. # 2, 7 and 28 still my very favorite ones.  1. First rule of business: Stay out of everyone else's and be about yours! 2. Keep your circle small and honest. Everyone is not for you. 3. Stay away from people with questionable character. 4. Closed doors are really a blessing. If you can't pray a door open, don't try to pry a door open. 5. "Don't do shit you don't believe in." -- Russell Simmons 6. "Not sure what to do next? Ask how can you help!" -- Chris Guillebeau 7. Wear your invisible crown. Daily. 8. Pick your battles. 9. "No one on earth can do what you do, in precisely the way that you do it!" -- Alexandra Franzen 10. If you want to know where you'll be five years

Bubbles

Is there anything more magical than bubbles? Floating away, dancing around with the wind. Reflecting the light the sun shares with them. I remember having almost an obsession with bubbles when I was a kid. I would blow them all from my little bubble containers and then ran to the kitchen to prepare myself a mix (that never worked BTW) with dishwashing liquid soap. Happy week everyone, magical as bubbles, healthy and peaceful.

Loving all this stuff.....

happy weekend.

The patience game

Around town these last weeks, it feels neither winter nor spring but something weird in between. Waiting for spring to fully show up. Waiting for full blossom flowers. Waiting for that change of wardrobe. For dinners in our deck. For green grass and playgrounds after school. Let's just wait a little longer and be patient while transitioning into a full and complete spring season. BTW tomorrow is Friday.
