I hadn't seen my friend Carin probably since 2003. I met her about 15 years ago while we worked together in Advertising and we built a very solid friendship those days back in Caracas, the city I was born and raised and where I lived until 11 years ago. When you leave your country, you leave behind lots of things, but especially people you love. You come to a new place, adapt to a new culture, make new friends, learn a new language and start to build a new life, but the dear ones you left behind somehow stay frozen in time and what you feel for them as well. Carin came for Thanksgiving this year, filled my home with love, played a lot with my kid, had great conversations with my husband and I and did what she does best: gave me her friendship all over again, the way just she knows, genuinely and with all her heart. Very special lady this one. some pictures of great memories-Thanksgiving 2011-
