Getting ready

The long weekend started. We need to get ready since Tuesday school starts as well and we still have a few things to buy. From here I wish a great, productive and awesome school year for all the kids, the young ones, the older ones, for each and every single kid, just a healthy and happy new school year. .....and a few pretty pictures I found.

The Fisherman's Prayer

An Irish prayer for today. "Dear Lord, be good to me... The sea is so wide and my boat is so small." Have a blessed Thursday.

People

"People may not tell you how they feel about you, but they always show you. Pay attention."

Paper Boat

My mom made this little paper boat for Diego. I had forgotten that she used to make them for me and my sisters when we were little. She is leaving back to Caracas this coming Sunday and the countdown makes us very sad. For Diego having his grandma here was absolutely the best feeling.  I will keep this little boat as a promise that she will be back soon.  Love you mom, even when I dont show you how big my love for you is.

more bits of summer + mom + my birthday

mom is still here and that makes our home so happy. It warms my heart to see Diego and grandma playing together, it'll be so hard to see her leave next week back to Caracas. This week I celebrated my birthday and even though it was a very simple celebration I should say it was a very good day, a blessed one. Thankful for that. We've been out a lot this summer and it is kind of hard to see it sneaking out and reminding us that fall will show up real soon. It is OK, who doesn't like fall? Some pictures of summer, mom and a birthday girl. Happy week everybody. A healthy one.

Have a nice weekend

Golden Gate and Arguello

It was the summer of 1999, one week before my birthday (and maybe that's also why I'm writing this, my birthday is coming up, 14 years later though, and memories are coming back with it) when I packed a huge suitcase -it was really huge- got in a plane, traveled many many hours and moved to a place located 4,000 miles away from home. I was happy, deeply happy, Oh my God, so happy. I was going to start  a new life, with my brand new husband in a brand new city, a city -btw- that I loved with all my heart since the very first second I landed on it. And how could it possibly be otherwise, I landed on August 6th. 1999 in San Fra
